What are Oregon Tech's Admission Standards?
Admission to Oregon Tech is based on your unweighted college-preparatory GPA. When you apply, we’ll recalculate your college-prep GPA based on 15 core courses (outlined below), including a required fourth year of math that uses Algebra II as a prerequisite. SAT and ACT scores are optional—you can choose to submit to enhance your application, but they are by no means required.
What GPA should I have for Admission to Oregon Tech?
- You will be offered admission if you have a 3.0 or higher unweighted core GPA based on a 4.0 scale calculated using the 15 core courses (No deficiencies*)
- You will be considered for admission if you have a 2.5 or higher unweighted core GPA based on a 4.0 scale calculated using the 15 core courses (No more than one deficiency in any two core classes)
* Deficiencies are courses not taken or courses in which a grade of F or D was earned. Repeat courses may be used to replace grades.
Do I need to submit test scores?
Effective Fall 2021, standardized test scores such as ACT, SAT, SAT II, AP, or IB are not required. However, scores may be used to make up course deficiencies in the core subject requirements.
Test scores in no way will penalize your admission review, but you're encouraged to submit them if you have them. If submitted, they will only be used to enhance your admission review and Presidential Scholarship consideration.
ACT Code: 3484

What about transcripts?
You will self-report your courses and grades in your application. Only submit transcripts if requested, if 22 years or older, or if you're an international applicant. If you decide to attend Oregon Tech, a final review of your official high school transcript with your graduation date and all final grades is required before you may start classes.
Submit official transcripts for college-level credit completed and official scores for AP and IB.
Students with international transcripts must also be translated into English and US standards by an approved transcript evaluation service; GPA must also be included on the transcript evaluation.
Among the acceptable transcript evaluation services are AACRAO; Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.; Educational Records Evaluation Service; e-ValReports; Foreign Credentials Service of America (FCSA); Global Credential Evaluators, Inc.; International Education Research Foundation; Josef Silny & Associates; Spantran Evaluation Services; The Foundation for International Services; and World Education Services.
Exceptions
- One deficiency in math and one deficiency in lab science will result in an automatic denial
- Applicants 22 and older—as well as students who took the GED—are exempt from the college-prep course requirements
- Merit-based scholarships awarded at the time of admission will use cumulative high school GPA
- International students must submit all translated and converted transcripts to be reviewed for admission
