- Welcome and overview of campus resources and services by Dean of Students, Bonita Bontrager.
- This will include information about FERPA (student privacy rights), accessing student records (proxy access or release of information forms), Oregon Tech emergency alert system, and our request for support/ concerns for student protocol.
- Keynote presentation about transitioning to college which impacts the whole family by Stacey Fredericks, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with opportunities to connect with other families.

Parent & Supporter SOAR is held each year before the start of fall term classes. We want you to get to know us and hear about all of the fantastic services provided to your student.
We want to get to know you because we know how important it is for the whole family to feel a part of our community. When we welcome a new Hustlin' Owl, we welcome the whole flock that they are a part of!

Student Affairs
Josie Hudspeth started her career in higher education in May 2014 as the Student Engagement and Leadership Coordinator at Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls. In the department of Student Involvement & Belonging, Josie served in roles supporting student leadership development, community building and service, orientation, diversity and inclusion student programs, communication tools, budget management, and staff supervision for seven years. Josie began advising F1 international students in 2016 and continues to serve as Oregon Tech’s Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the Student Exchange and Visitor Program. She then transitioned to the Portland-Metro campus and served as the division’s Systems Manager by supporting the implementation and oversight of software tools, electronic processes, and webpages. Through a variety of team transitions, Josie served in interim capacities for Disability Services, student conduct and grievances, student government advising, and Student Services leadership.
Building on 10 years of experience within the Division of Student Affairs, Josie provides oversight to Student Affairs personnel and services at the Portland-Metro campus, leads Portland-Metro student conduct cases and student care/crisis team, and serves as an advocate for student well-being. She strives to be a visible, accessible, and collaborative campus leader who employs empathy, positivity, and creativity in support of a vibrant student experience.
