Ahmed Ashour is an Assistant Professor of Computer Systems Engineering Technology at Oregon Tech and a Senior Member of IEEE. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and is completing a second Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Idaho State University. He brings more than 16 years of academic, technical, research, and managerial experience in the United States and Egypt. Before joining Oregon Tech, he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Idaho State University. His background includes university teaching, student mentoring, electronics product development, laboratory management, and business leadership as a company CEO. His research covers artificial intelligence, 5G/6G networks, embedded systems, cybersecurity, signal processing, wireless communications, and the Internet of Things. He has published 26 peer-reviewed works, received Best Paper and Best Oral Presentation awards, reviewed more than 60 scholarly papers, served as an NSF SBIR/STTR proposal panel reviewer, and contributed to writing NSF research proposals.
