Pramiti Barua joins Oregon Tech as a full-time Instructor in the Computer Systems Engineering Technology department. She brings extensive experience teaching computer science at both community college and university levels. Most recently, she served as an adjunct instructor at Portland Community College, where she taught courses in C/C++, Python, and Algorithms, emphasizing hands-on learning and practical, industry-relevant skills.
Pramiti holds a master’s degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, and has completed advanced coursework in software development and machine learning. Before transitioning to academia, she worked in the tech industry as a mobile app developer, contributing to the design and development of industry-facing applications. Her combined academic and professional background enables her to bridge the gap between
theoretical foundations and real-world application, equipping students with the tools they need for successful careers in technology.
Outside the classroom, Pramiti is dedicated to supporting first-generation college students and is actively involved in mentoring and outreach programs that promote diversity in STEM. In her free time, she enjoys hiking the scenic trails of the Pacific Northwest. She is thrilled to join the Oregon Tech community and looks forward to contributing to its strong, applied learning environment.
