GetEducated.com Best Buy - Online Colleges Affordability

June 20, 2013, KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Seven online degree programs from the Oregon Institute of Technology received “best buy for online degree” recognition from GetEducated.com.

According to the company’s web site, Get Educated Best Buy ranking list reveals the top 27 best bargains nationwide in online bachelor's for cost-conscious health science students. GetEducated.com is a consumer group that publishes online college and university rankings and ratings based on the dimensions that matter most to online students: affordability and credibility.

These cost rankings are based on a comprehensive national survey (Spring 2013) of 34 regionally accredited colleges that offer 52 different online health science bachelor degrees in career majors such as health management, healthcare administration, health information management, health informatics, medical records, sports health, dietetics, nutrition, and clinical science and practice.

Oregon Tech’s online Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Management, Respiratory Care, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Vascular Technology, Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Science, and Echocardiography rank as the number 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, and 24 spots, respectively, for the best buy in the country based on tuition costs and distance learning fees, according to GetEducated.com. No other university on the rankings has more than two degrees listed, leading Oregon Tech to represent a quarter of the list as a whole.

“Oregon Tech’s allied health Degree Completion and Initial Licensure programs are an outstanding value. Each program provides new opportunities for graduates to pursue expanded career paths from managerial positions in clinics and hospitals, to teaching or working in other professional capacities both in and out of the clinical realm,” said Barbara DeKalb, Director of Distance Education at Oregon Tech.

Being ranked as a “best buy” indicates the degree program has been independently reviewed and found to offer a high quality online degree at a cost well below the national average. With the most expensive program costing over $135,700, Oregon Tech maintains a cost less than $47,000 for each degree, which is less than the average cost of an online bachelor’s degree.
