Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) will hold its 40th annual commencement ceremony in Wilsonville at Oregon Tech’s Portland-Metro campus on June 14, 2026. Senator Kate Lieber will deliver the keynote address.
Senator Lieber represents Senate District 14, which includes parts of SW Portland and Beaverton, covering portions of Washington and Multnomah Counties. She serves as the Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Ways and Means, the budget-writing committee of the legislature. She is a mother of two, a breast cancer survivor, a former community college instructor, and an attorney.
Prior to joining the Oregon Senate, Lieber worked as an attorney in the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted cases involving domestic violence and child abuse. Governor Ted Kulongoski appointed her to the Psychiatric Security Review Board, where she served for eight years and led the board for five of those years.
Lieber has a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College and a Juris Doctor from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Prior to the Portland-Metro event, Oregon Tech’s Klamath Falls campus will celebrate commencement on June 13 at 10 a.m., with OHSU President Dr. Shereef Elnahal serving as the keynote speaker.
