Oregon Tech was ranked among the best schools in the nation in Forbes’ annual list of Top Colleges. The rankings list 500 schools – the top 20% of all four-year and graduate universities in the nation – with Oregon Tech listed at No. 377 overall and No. 179 in Public Colleges.

According to Forbes, U.S. colleges and universities were ranked this year based on return on investment and outcomes they delivered for students. Schools placed well if their students graduated on time, secured high salaries and low debt, and went on to have successful careers. According to the rankings, schools on the list offer an excellent education at a great price, graduate high earners, and propel students to become successful entrepreneurs and influential leaders in their fields.

Data is collected from sources such as The College Scorecard and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, two federal databases that track student outcomes and institutional characteristics. They also drew from PayScale, a salary reporting and comparison company; Third Way, a D.C.-based think tank that developed the price-to-earnings premium; and the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics.
