Kayla de Hoop
Kayla de Hoop, BS/MS candidate in civil engineering at Oregon Tech, has been selected as recipient of the 2018-2019 Oregon undergraduate Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Scholarship, a scholarship valued at $2,500 to promote the advancement of the transportation profession by providing financial assistance to students pursuing degrees in transportation engineering or other related fields.

For the past 10 years, Oregon ITE has honored an outstanding undergraduate and graduate student from associated Oregon universities. This is the third time in 10 years that an Oregon Tech student has been awarded the scholarship.

Kayla is currently finishing her senior year of the Civil Engineering program at Oregon Tech and hopes to begin working on her master’s degree as part of the concurrent BS/MS program, with a goal of graduating in spring 2021. She serves as vice president of the Oregon Institute of Technology American Society Of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter and was a member of the Oregon Tech Steel Bridge team, which placed in the top half of competitors at the national American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Student Steel Bridge Competition earlier this year. Kayla is originally from Klamath Falls and intends to work in transportation construction projects upon graduation.
