Salem, OR The Oregon Senate today confirmed a new trustee for the governing board of the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech): Nicole Galster, a current student at Oregon Tech’s Klamath Falls campus. Trustee Galster will join her colleagues for the next meeting of the Board on October 3.

There are eleven at-large positions on the Board, three positions filled by Faculty, Staff and Student members, and an ex officio position held by Oregon Tech’s President, for a total of fifteen members. Ms. Galster is filling the student position, left vacant by Melissa Ceron who graduated in June.

Ms. Galster is a senior pursuing a degree in Management with a Marketing option at Oregon Tech and is expected to graduate in June 2017. After receiving her Associate of Arts in General Studies from Umpqua Community College, she chose to attend Oregon Tech because of the small class sizes, personable faculty, beautiful location overlooking Upper Klamath Lake, and the dedication to a quality education on which Oregon Tech built its reputation. She is involved with Phi Beta Lambda, the collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America, and the Oregon Tech Leadership Academy, in addition to making the Dean's or President's list nearly every term. She also serves as a Youth Mentor and as part of the Oregon Tech Circle K Club, which helps the local community through dedicating time to events and organizations such as the Klamath Animal Shelter and Operation Christmas Child.

Ms. Galster also works as a Marketing Intern at AHM Brands in Eugene, Oregon and for Mark Sheldon Marketing in Roseburg, Oregon. For more information on Oregon Tech Board members, go to: www.oit.edu/trustees.
