Extracurricular Activities
My extracurricular activities are DECA, Key Club, Yearbook, Work, Part-time family caregiver.
A Little Bit About Me
My name is Alexus Tenold, I am 18 and by the time I enter college I will be 19 years old. I started working my first job about 10 months ago at a vet clinic. Working with animals before humans has been very beneficial and was "in a way" close to working many different hospital jobs. I also struggle with public speaking, talking to customers and answering calls at work gives me experience to overcome my fears. I was diagnosed with a blood disorder about four and a half years ago. Unfortunately, I had to stop playing sports and doing certain activities, but with any extra time I dedicate myself to focus on my studies, work and help family.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
Oregon Tech is my choice because it is close to home, work and family. I also chose OIT because they have a highly rated nuclear medicine program, which is what I aim to be going into this fall.
My Influential Professors
The two most influential teachers during my high school career are my art/yearbook teacher (Jon Rudnicki) and my biology/anatomy teacher (Carly Fullerton). They both understood me very well throughout school, and I know when I am struggling in their class or others they give me advice. I think even throughout college I could ask them for help whenever needed.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
The qualities I am going to bring to OIT: I am dedicated to my studies, when I struggle I know how to ask for help and I have already taken multiple college classes in high school that will help me leap ahead in my school goals.
My Plans After Graduation
After graduating OIT, I plan on getting a job at Sky Lakes Medical Center. Hopefully soon after I can save up to buy a house and pursue other future goals.
