A Little Bit About Me
My name is Aubrielle Garcia, and I am a junior at Oregon Tech, majoring in Radiologic Science. I am originally from Medford, Oregon so it is nice to have been close to home while attending school. During my time at Oregon Tech I have kept my job in my hometown as an imaging assistant. Keeping my job has helped me understand more hands on while going through the program which has been a blessing. I spend my free time seeking adventure. I have realized life is too short to not find a new hiking trail, find a hidden gem from city to city, or simply travel to new places. I have worked hard to maintain a job, be a full time student, and earn a spot on the honor roll. I am very excited to start my career soon.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I chose radiologic science because of my compassionate and empathetic nature. To have the opportunity to support others when they are going through their hardest times and most vulnerable moments, is a job I feel is most rewarding. I joined Oregon Tech for their high post graduation employment rates and their one of a kind hands-on learning.
My Influential Professors
My influential professor would be Rich Carson- he pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me to gain confidence in my skills. Rich is very knowledgeable about radiologic science and I have admired him for all he has shared with us.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
My greatest learning experience at Oregon Tech was getting to do a group project with cadaver imaging. Cadaver imaging has brought such a unique learning opportunity to my time here at Oregon Tech. Getting to image a real human before clinicals helped boost my confidence and technical skills. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity with cadaver imaging.
My Plans After Graduation
My plans for the future after graduation include working as a CT technologist in a cancer care facility. I have a very compassionate nature and feel my calling is to be in an environment where I can be part of a support system for patients going through cancer. Dealing with loss in my family due to cancer has made me feel more empathetic and understanding, I want to give back to my community in their hardest times.
