A Little Bit About Me

I am originally from New England, but have been living in Oregon since 2012. Oregon offers so many opportunities for me to participate in the recreational activities that I love (hiking, kayaking, and cycling). When not out exploring trails, I like to garden and have cozy movie nights with my husband and cats.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech to pursue the Medical Lab Sciences program, as I want to be able to help people through accurate laboratory science. Each patient is deserving of accurate information so that doctors can make the best decisions for their care.

My Influential Professors

All of the MLS professors have been incredible learning resources for me. Each professor brings unique experiences from working as professional MLS's and combines these with education theory to provide an incredibly helpful foundation for entering the field. Thank you Dawn Taylor, Caroline Doty, Laurie Sprauer, Rachelle Barrett, and Darrell Mooers!

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

I have loved getting the chance to be in the MLS labs, as they offer a hands-on opportunity to put our lecture experiences to practice. Being in the Blood Bank and Hematology labs have been my favorite so far.

My Plans After Graduation

After graduation, I plan to work within a hospital as a generalist medical lab scientist, and participate in MLS advocacy through ASCLS. In the future I would like to specialize.
