Extracurricular Activities

I am a mom of three with two left at home. I coach kindergarten soccer, and I am involved in the community, helping through local boosters and church.

A Little Bit About Me

I am 43 years old and returned to school after almost 20 years and three children. I am working very hard to become an engineer. I am already studying for my FE exam. I would really like to work in research and development for an outstanding employer on projects that innovate and improve manufacturing of whatever it is they may produce. I have interests in aerospace, automotive, and agricultural equipment.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech because of the degree program, and the location to where I live here in Colton, OR. The Wilsonville campus is very convenient. I also am interested in the master's program in ME for Boeing students- just need to get my foot in the door with them!

My Influential Professors

David Johnston and David Hammond are my most influential professors thus far during my time with Oregon Tech. These men put so much work into their quality instruction and lesson plans, being available to their students and making learning interesting and fun. They are definitely key players in my success here as a student. I am better for being their student.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

My greatest learning experiences would be in physics and math. I have done some very interesting labs and learned how to use new software. Understanding collected data or how to write short programs for problem-solving is valuable.

My Plans After Graduation

I have been thinking a lot about my plans here. I am about 55 credits or so away from graduating. I am beginning to focus on studying for the FE exam, and I feel compelled to start looking for a company that I would love to work for or reach out to my past internships now that I am so close to being done. By the time I graduate, I would like to be signed on to work in my field.
