A Little Bit About Me

Dominik Kuller

Hi, my name is Dominik Kuller, and I was born in Buffalo, New York. I have a strong interest in cybersecurity and programming, which I find both challenging and exciting. Outside of tech, I love music and gaming, which inspire my creativity. I also enjoy working outdoors and staying active through sports. Additionally, I’m currently learning Russian, as I’m fascinated by languages and cultures. I've been studying the Russian Language for 8 months and plan on one day visiting! I absolutely can't wait to start college this year and start meeting some amazing people and making new friends!

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

The cybersecurity major caught my attention because of its relevance, and how important it is in today's world. The field originally piqued my interest from when I attended a week-long cybersecurity camp, where I learned about some of the basic principles.

My Influential Professors

There are a lot of high school teachers that I look up to. My high school art teacher inspired me to be creative and express myself through different art forms. In history class, my teacher made me excited to learn about the past and encouraged me to think critically about events. My math teacher helped me build confidence in solving problems, teaching me that with hard work, I could overcome challenges. Together, they motivated me to do my best in all my classes.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

During my high school experience, I had the incredible opportunity to create a clicker video game inspired by Norse mythology, which allowed me to explore game design and storytelling. In my STEM/Tech class, we took a playful approach to learning by playing LEGO soccer, combining creativity with teamwork and problem-solving. Additionally, my government class deepened my understanding of civic engagement and political systems, sparking my interest in active participation in our government.

My Plans After Graduation

After college, I plan to get an entry-level job in cybersecurity where I can apply what I’ve learned in class. I’m excited to use my skills to help protect organizations from online threats and keep their information safe. I know that real-world experience will teach me even more, and I’m eager to grow in my career while making a positive impact in the tech field. Ultimately, I would like to end up in a Lead Security Analyst position, or just having more fun as a penetration tester.
