A Little Bit About Me

Other than wanting to pursue my degree in nursing I have recently graduated from Mazama High School. Graduating from High School was very important to me as I come from a family who didn't have the opportunities I had when growing up. Growing up in a Mexican household has always been at the center of my life. My beautiful single mother has instilled in me the values of hard work, resilience, and the importance of helping others. She has emphasized the importance of education, not just as a means to success, but as a way to contribute positively to society. I carry the lessons I've learned from my heritage with me every day, and they serve as a constant source of motivation as I work towards what I want for myself in the future other than my nursing major.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech because it is close to home, it allows me to stay connected with my family while pursuing my education. Being near home means I have a strong support system nearby, which is important to me.

My Influential Teachers

The most influential teachers I've had are Mr. Throne and Mrs. Mateos from Mazama High School. Mr. Throne, my Chemistry teacher, really pushed me to think critically and understand the subject deeply. He has a way of making complex topics seem manageable and always encourages us to ask questions and explore beyond what we learned in class. Even though chemistry can be taught, Mr. Throne's passion for the subject and his ability to make it interesting have made a big impact on me.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

The greatest learning experience I have had in High School was figuring out how to manage my time and responsibilities. Between classes, extracurricular activities, and social life, I had to learn how to prioritize what's important and stay organized. It wasn't always easy, but it taught me a lot of discipline and the importance of balancing different aspects of life.

My Plans After Graduation

With my degree in nursing my plans for the future involve gaining experience in a clinical setting to build my skills and knowledge as a registered nurse. As I progress in my career, I also plan to take on mentorship and leadership roles. Helping guide other new nurses and sharing my knowledge and experience is something I am passionate about. I hope to give back to the community that surrounds me whether local or globally, just in a way to make a positive impact beyond my regular job.
