A Little Bit About Me
I come from an immigrant household where education and hard work are highly valued. Being the first in my family to attend college is both a challenge and a source of pride. I’m responsible, dedicated, and passionate about helping others, which is why I’m pursuing a career as an ultrasound technician. High school and dual enrollment have prepared me well for college, and I’m excited to gain hands-on experience at Oregon Tech. Outside of academics, I enjoy supporting my community and learning new skills that will help me succeed both personally and professionally.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I chose Oregon Tech for its hands-on learning approach, which I believe is essential for a career in ultrasound technology. Someone close to me was helped by this technology, inspiring me to pursue this path. Oregon Tech offers the practical skills and training I need to make a difference in people’s lives.
My Influential Professors
Although I am just starting at Oregon Tech, I’m excited to learn from professors who emphasize hands-on learning. In high school, my counselor was very influential, guiding me through the college process as the first in my family to attend. I look forward to building relationships with Oregon Tech professors who will support my growth as an ultrasound tech and help me gain real world experience.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
High school has been a great learning experience, especially being in a dual enrolled program where I'm earning college credits early. I’m the first in my family to attend college, so navigating the process with help of my school counselor has taught me responsibility and self advocacy. These skills will help me succeed at Oregon Tech and beyond.
My Plans After Graduation
After graduating with my degree, I plan to work as a certified ultrasound technician, helping patients through diagnostic imaging. I want to provide compassionate care and support for individuals going through medical challenges, just like someone close to me was helped by this technology. Eventually, I hope to continue advancing my skills and possibly specialize further in the field.
