A Little Bit About Me
I was born in France and grew up in or near Paris until the age of nine when my parents moved us back to the United States. At first, it proved difficult to adapt to my new environment. I had to struggle to improve my social skills as I was confronted with so many unfamiliar people and situations, but I did grow in unexpected ways, acquiring more self-knowledge. You gain life skills transitioning from one culture to another, even if some things are “lost in translation.” In America, on my way to becoming an Eagle Scout, I learned survival skills, enough to feel at home in the wilderness of the Northwest just as I once did in the streets of Paris. I would like to think the France-America transition has helped prepare me for future transitions like college and a career.
Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
As I learned more about manufacturing processes and sharpened my skills with CAD, I became more and more interested in the opportunity to study manufacturing engineering. I liked the Oregon Tech campus and was impressed by the support for the degree. I feel that it is a good fit for me. I am very much looking forward to continuing what I have begun by pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering.
My Plans After Graduation
Although I don't yet have a specific job title in mind upon earning a degree in manufacturing engineering, I am focused on having a career that I could enjoy and grow in.
