A Little Bit About Me

My name is Noah Azzopardi, and I am 22 years old. I am a senior at Oregon Tech majoring in mechanical engineering. I am a kind, caring, and thoughtful person. I always try to get a good laugh out of others. I am environmentally conscious. I try to do my part in mitigating my impact on the world by repairing broken technology and more. I am determined, a go getter, and have immense perseverance. A little too much for my own good I've been told. If I am experiencing problems or working on projects, I will spend as much time as possible to correct said problem or perfect said project. Every detail matters. I have an open mind and make sure everyone's ideas are included in the discussion. My philosophy is to be kind and understanding of others and their situations. Everyone has their own thing going on.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech because of the opportunities it brings to its students. The hands-on aspect to the institution is a large reason as well. It allows students to gain a deeper understanding of complex concepts and at the same time makes it much easier to grasp. The ability to physically see how a product works in person is a totally different experience than being told how it works or solving mathematical equations about it. I chose mechanical engineering as my major because of my passion to create things. I want to build tomorrow's future!

My Influential Professors

Professors Irina Demeshko, Cliff Stover, Sean Sloan, and Tim Pasang have been my most influential professors. When I'm working with these individuals it becomes immediately apparent that they truly care about their passion for engineering and teaching. They go out of their way to educate and help their students even in times when they aren't required to. I am so appreciative of this because these are qualities that students greatly desire in a professor. We look up to professors for help and understanding in our rapidly changing worlds and being willing to uphold that role and exercise it to the best of your ability, is something that us students all expect and greatly appreciate.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

My greatest learning experience at Oregon Tech is that we all start small. Before, I was worried about not being good enough. I couldn't see how I would ever be able to be successful with others my age, or even younger, accomplishing amazing things around me. I have realized that we all have to start somewhere. Whether it be yesterday, now, or tomorrow. It's easy to compare yourself to others, but the truth is I'm not them. I am who I make myself out to be. I just need to put in the time and hard work to get where I want to be.

My Plans After Graduation

My future ambition ever since I was in elementary school was to work for Apple Inc. and this couldn't be truer today. To be hired at Apple, one needs plenty of experience and background, so after college, I will spend as much time as I can to gain the necessary skills that are expected from the company. I would also like to develop a way to mitigate e-waste by recycling old electronics down to their individual elements. I have a strong passion for doing amazing things and I can't wait to leave my mark on the world.
