A Little Bit About Me

Some of my hobbies include reading, exercising, spending time with friends, and playing the cello. I love to go camping and spend time in nature with family and friends. I have a lot of passions in life and one of my biggest goals is to travel the world and see the beautiful sights it has to offer. An influential person I look up to is David Attenborough, and I would love to go to some of the places in his documentaries. I plan to go on expeditions in Africa, Asia, and Europe to learn new things about the natural world. I believe that a person can live many lives within the one they are given, and I am going to make sure that I live as many as I can.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose OIT because the school is ranked highly for the Dental Hygiene program and the faculty prepares their students to be successful. Over the summer, I had the opportunity to shadow my own hygienist, and I watched her interactions with the different patients she cared for. Seeing the way she handled each client made me develop a new passion for the field of dental hygiene.

My Influential Professors

This year at Klamath Union, a new English teacher began working. Her name is Lindsey Davis, and she has guided me throughout my senior year of high school. There were several instances where I would be overwhelmed with college decisions and degree choices, and she would talk me through each option to help me figure out the best option for me. She is the type of teacher to pay special attention to each and every student, regardless of their background or performance in her classes. She makes everyone feel noticed and appreciated, and she is someone I greatly look up to.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

I believe that I have been prepared through Klamath Union High School to bring leadership experiences to OIT. I have held several leadership positions, and I am well-equipped to work with people from different backgrounds and experiences than myself. I am excited to work with new people at Oregon Tech and find new groups to socialize with.

My Plans After Graduation

Once I earn my dental hygiene degree I plan on starting my career in a private practice. I am not sure if I'd like to move out of my hometown yet, but wherever I end up I know I want to work for a dentist who values patient happiness and treats their staff like equals. Additionally to my career, I would love to start a family once I graduate.
