Mission
The Office of Strategic Partnerships (OSP) promotes and oversees industry relationships at Oregon Tech. The staff is responsible for campus-wide promotion of the university's economic development mission by facilitating the external relationships that enable the university to contribute to the vitality of its campus regions and the state of Oregon.
Responsibility
- Building long-term partnerships with businesses and industry associations that are crucial to Oregon Tech's mission;
- Providing support to secure external funding by leveraging private sector partnerships for grants and sponsored projects;
- Proactively working with faculty to develop collaborations with industry that lead to sponsored projects, commercialization and entrepreneurial opportunities;
- Building an alliance of local, state and national support for Oregon Tech's policy and funding priorities; and
- Representing the university on strategic partnership, industry affairs, and legislative advisory councils with and for the Oregon Tech Board of Trustees.
The OSP collaborates with academic departments, The Office of Sponsored Projects and Grants Administration (SPA), and the Office of Innovation and Technology Transfer (OITT) to determine Oregon Tech’s research priorities and align Oregon Tech’s academic mission, faculty research interests with industry, other universities, and economic development and research organizations.
Operationally, the Office of Strategic Partnerships reports to the President to advance the University’s strategic priorities.

Dave Eames is an Associate Manufacturing Solutions Researcher specializing in additive manufacturing and metrological inspection at OMIC R&D. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University and an Associate of Science in Baking and Restaurant Management from the Oregon Culinary Institute.
Before joining the world of advanced manufacturing, Dave served for six years as a Nuclear Electrician aboard the fast attack submarine USS Columbus (SSN 762). Following his military service, he pursued a creative path in the culinary arts, working his way from bartender and line cook to Director of Manufacturing for a national ice cream brand. This background has shaped Dave’s hands-on, inventive approach to research and development.
Outside of work, Dave is a proud father of two and husband to, in his words, “the most incredible person I have ever known.” He is an avid hand tool woodworker, with a personal mission to replace every piece of store-bought furniture in his home with handcrafted items of his own design.
