We ensure you get enrolled in the correct math course using ALEKS Math Placement. Assessments must be proctored, so please plan accordingly. You can take the assessment multiple times if you need to practice, so we recommend making your first attempt as soon as possible.

Math Placement

All incoming first-year students from high school, homeschool, or with a GED must take a proctored ALEKS Math Placement Assessment. You must complete this assessment before your New Wings event.

Student Health Information

Access My Health Portal via "My Health" in TECHweb to submit:

  • Health History
  • Dates of 2 MMR (Measles, Mumps, & Rubella) vaccines

Your final transcript must have your graduation date posted and is required to be on file with Oregon Tech in order for you to attend classes.

If you submitted self-reported test scores when you applied to Oregon Tech, we will also need the official test score record to complete your review.

Please submit final transcript and/or official test scores electronically to oit@oit.edu. Transcripts must be sent directly from the school to us to be considered official.

Optional Next Steps

Optional but still important steps to aid your college decision. These aren't required to get enrolled, but we highly recommend considering them, as they can improve your college experience!

Download the Zeemee app to connect with other students.

Zeemee App

Why we recommend: You can get a great sense of how you'll fit in with your classmates by interacting with the Owl community. You can learn more about what student life is like here, make new friends before you even start classes, and find the ideal roommate whether you'll be living on or off campus.

Consider on-campus housing, and apply by May 1 for the best experience. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For off-campus housing, use this tool to help you find a place. Students on the Portland-Metro campus can use this tool too!

Why we recommend: We recommend that you consider the benefits and convenience of living on campus. It's safe, secure, and keeps you close to the community! This is a great option for students looking for the traditional college experience.

Note: You must have completed your first attempt of the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment first.

Consider using the interactive learning modules in the ALEKS platform to improve your math skills.

You can retake the math assessment up to five total times, but you must spend a set amount of time in the learning modules to unlock your second attempt and beyond.

Why we recommend: This can help you get better placement if your first attempt placed you lower than you think you should be. Getting accurately placed can save you time and money, ensuring you don't take a college math course you don't need to take (or take one that you're not ready for). Take advantage of the free access to ALEKS's learning modules to improve your math skills so that you can hit the ground running your first term here.

Additional Steps

Please have official test scores sent electronically to oit@oit.edu. They must be sent directly from the school to us to be considered official.

In addition to your next steps as an incoming first-year student, be sure you're following all applicable steps required to use VA benefits.
