The college experience can be very stressful. Many Oregon Tech students experience some form of crisis (e.g., emotional, financial, academic, health-related) each year. Nationally, suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students.

Whether the crisis is big or small, counseling staff want to help. Counselors are generally available 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is in session. Students in crisis during our office hours should come directly to The Student Health Center. Our staff will meet with the student immediately.

When our office is closed, requests for emergency support may be directed to the Klamath Basin Behavioral Health Crisis Unit at 541-883-1030. You can also call 911 or go directly to the emergency room at Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls.
