Extracurricular Activities

I don't currently have any extracurricular activities through OIT. However, I play the viola and engage in numerous arts and crafts on my own time. I also was accepted into psi chi.

A Little Bit About Me

I am currently a sophomore at OIT, and my passion is psychology. I strive every single day to do my best and learn as much as I can. Outside of college I participate in almost every hobby imaginable. I love to cook, bake, paint, draw, crochet, embroider, garden, read, play viola, and so many more things. Some of my favorite things in the whole world include my 16-year-old cat and my four chickens that I raised from chicks. Currently, I am living with my partner of three and a half years off campus, which means I get to experience all of Klamath and not just the college campus. Lastly, I'm very, very thankful for this opportunity!

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech because I have always loved hands-on learning and also because I prefer small towns over large cities. Oregon Tech offers both of these things through its programs, which I feel allows me to get the best and most personal learning experience. I chose to major in applied psychology because the human mind has always interested me, and I tend to find myself having a natural talent for it.

My Influential Professors

My top two most influential professors are Dr. Trevor Peterson and Dr. Gaylyn Maurer. They both have been so inspirational and influential through their stories of their own practice and with how much they engage and care about their students. They are both absolutely brilliant professors, and I would have them every term if possible.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

My greatest learning experience so far has been learning about the opportunities a rural town can offer and how important it is to branch out to your peers, professors, and to the community. I have met so many inspirational people since starting my degree at Oregon Tech from classmates that are doing amazing to professionals who are such valuable resources and so interesting to talk to. I don't think I would have been able to succeed as much as I have if I hadn't learned about all that was offered here.

My Plans After Graduation

After I graduate with my Bachelor's of Science in Applied Psychology I plan on pursuing my degree in Clinical Psychology. I'm currently uncertain where I plan to pursue my doctoral degree, but I believe I will pick somewhere in Oregon.
