A Little Bit About Me

Hi, I'm Samantha Stender. I mostly just go by Sam. I was born and raised in Gold Beach Oregon. I have played soccer from the age of four until this year. I have a passion for art and an extreme love for nature and animals. I also love thrifting, driving, and hanging out with my friends.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major

I chose Oregon Tech because of the smaller class sizes and cheaper overall cost. I chose to major in marketing because I think it will be a good career that utilizes my creative and competitive nature.

My Influential Professors

My influential teachers in high school were Kevin Swift and Todd Lensing. They both encouraged me to excel in different aspects of my life. Kevin Swift was my Civics teacher, and he always challenged me to do my best academically. His class was one of the only ones where I felt I was truly challenged in this aspect, and I am grateful for that. Todd Lensing was my art teacher, and he helped me to hone in my art skills. He always supported my art projects and allowed me plenty of room for my creative vision. I appreciate both of these teachers very much.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech

My greatest learning experience in high school was my ceramics class. I took ceramics for 3 years. I started with no prior knowledge but now I can create beautiful pieces which I am proud of. I am so happy that I was able to have this opportunity to learn a new skill.

My Plans After Graduation

I plan to use my degree to find a stable job that I enjoy. I also hope to get married and have kids.
